The July 25 meeting of the Newport Center Toastmasters Club was attended by 18 members and three guests: Jeff, Stephen (both 2nd visit), Gloria (1st visit)
Please note that there will be an officers’ meeting next week.
The theme was: “Home” – The word of the day was: “habitat”.

- Carl has looked into a phone message service for the club. More to come.
New Business:
- David will publish a new schedule. Please let him know now if anyone will not be available in the next weeks.
- Les mentioned that anyone intending to use the overhead needs to come early to be able to set up.
- Officers’ meeting next week.

The July 18 meeting of the Newport Center Toastmasters Club was attended by 17 members, one inactive member, Wendell, and three guests: Mohammed (third visit), Jeff and Trish (both 1st visit)
Mohammed was inducted as a member. Welcome Mohammed.
The theme was: “Communication and Leadership” – The word of the day was: “conceipt”.

- The costs for the installation were:
Restaurant $936.86 – Awards and President’s plaque $222.
In attendance – 16 members – 9 guests, plus the guest speaker and his wife.
The receipts from the members were $385.
New Business:
- Wendell has the bill for the phone number on our website. It is part of the budget and Wendell should be refunded.
- Carl will look into having a free number in Google.
- Mohammed was inducted as a member. Welcome Mohammed.

The July 11 meeting of the Newport Center Toastmasters Club was attended by 19 members and two guests: Mohammed (2nd visit) and Stephen (1st visit).
The theme was: “Summertime” – The word of the day was: “dog days”.

- The Installation of Officers was well-attended and was a success. There were 27 in attendance.
New Business:
- On September 2, there will be two Area contests: Humorous speeches and Evaluations. The club could have a contest within the club and send the winners to the Area Contests.
