The November 28 meeting of the Newport Center Toastmasters Club was attended by 23 members.

The theme was: “Holiday Shopping Tips” – The word of the day was: “surfeit”.

- Remember the Installation and Christmas party at Kip’s home on December 11 at 4:30 PM.
- Ballots for the new officers were distributed. The open offices were filled in and one member per office were on the revision. A vote to elect them was passed. Welcome!

- All our equipment was sorted by Dr. Bob. (Thanks, Bob). A list was sent by email. Bob has organized the needed equipment in one large box and the duplicate in another.
- Jeffrey offered to store the back-ups at his office across the street.

- Installation and Christmas party have 34 signed up so far. Kip says he’s ready for up to 50.
- David suggested to have the Installation at 4:30 PM to see the sunset.
- Officers to be elected next Monday. The list will be sent separately.

New Business:
- The Irvine Company is remodeling and we have to remove all our supplies. The Company has been exceedingly generous to allow us the space. We now need to take care of our own paraphernalia. The supplies were divided among several cooperative members.

- Mark expressed his appreciation for the teachings of our club. He was a presenter for a group of 200 and he used what he learned here.

- Colette was in charge of a 45 minute presentation of a Panel at the Founder’s District Conference last Saturday and also is thankful for this club.
-She will send the list of those who have accepted to run for office for our club to be reviewed next Monday. We will have the election the following week.
- She also will send the list of winners for the last term.

Old Business:
- New officers are to be elected. Tracy has volunteered to be Sergeant-at-Arms; Scott, VP Membership; Carl, VP Education.
- Bob reported on his research for a new computer. He has discussed it with Les. A motion to let them choose what they feel is best for our club was made. An amendment to the motion was made to allow $800 for the purchase. The amendment and the amended motion passed.
- Michael mentioned that members have been asked to let the SAA know if s/he needs to use the computer and then to come early enough to set it up. This needs to be added to the description of duties.
- Michael informed us that we need a new chord. He will get it and the club will reimburse him.

New Business:
- Jeff will send information about his speech to all the members.
