- Michael made a motion to have the grammarian count the use of the word of the day only if used properly, not in an opening statement. The motion was seconded and passed.
- Since we have guests who are coming back but cannot be inducted, it was suggested that after the third visit, they will be given the bell for ah’s.
- Tracy will be back locally next week and will handle the equipment beginning next week. This week, Travis volunteered.

- Carl mentioned that few members appear to use their Leadership Manual at our meetings. He reminded us to bring our manual and have someone fill in the evaluation.
- David announced that there will be a Board meeting next week.

- Dues are due. Please give your checks to Jeffrey today. The dues will be turned in tomorrow.
- Stephen and Mark mentioned that there are a few members whose photos were not taken. Michael’s office will be used to complete them.
- Members who helped with the Youth Leadership were presented a certificate. Each did one of the Better Speaker Series.
They were: Tracy, Michael, Alex, Tom, Sandra, Cynthia. Thanks to them 11 Young girls have experienced public speaking. Tracy is receiving credit for having completed a Youth Leadership Program.

New Business:

- David mentioned that candidates for new officers will be asked soon. Also the installation will be planned.

- Christi emphasized that members need to accept the responsibilities assigned.
- David L. moved that when a member asks for more than eight minutes, the Toastmaster of the day add the extra two minutes in the schedule. It would prevent spending the time discussing it with all the members. A discussion ensued but the motion was approved
- David H. mentioned that a motion was passed at the officers meeting last week and he presented it to the members. The motion reads:
“When assigned a role, a member’s responsibility is to perform that duty or find a replacement. If not, the first occurrence of the missed role, the member will be given a warning. The second one will automatically place the name of the member on the inactive list.”
The discussion was not conclusive and was tabled. Unfinished business.
